Member's Feature: Pam Holland

By Megan King

Member's Feature: Pam Holland

We love to feature our members! Get to know our fabulous members, Pam Holland! Find out about her story below, and also check out this super fun video.

1.    Tell us about yourself and your business.

I am passionate about helping folks to move forward in their lives and reach their dreams, and am grateful for other Colony members who are helping me to do so.

My business is Mindful Decluttering and Organizing, LLC and we are in our 11th year of serving folks in the D.C. metropolitan area in decluttering and organizing their lives.  The outer reflects the inner & vice versa and so creating harmonious outer spaces creates space in our inner landscape as well.  Setting an intention to think more clearly and create a spacious life can also positively affect our physical environment.

2.    What made you decide to go into business for yourself?

It evolved step by step, starting with an interest in organizing, “hanging out a shingle” and finding it to be fun.  I then began creating workshops, which then created clients, who then told their friends and on it went.

3.    What’s the one thing you recommend to those who are considering starting a business of their own?

Network with other small business owners and learn from their mistakes and their successes.  Speaking and offering workshops is a great way to get business as folks learn to trust you when they meet you.

4.    Can you share a tip for how to stay in business as long as you have?

Keep going as long as it feels joyful and get support along the way from friends and other professionals.  Find your niche and discover where the folks in your niche live, work and play.

5.    Have any favorite business books you recommend?

Not really a business book, but I love “Your Spacious Life” by Stephanie Bennett Vogt

 6.    Anything else you’d like to add?

7.    Have any upcoming events to share?
